A/Q Wiring Service Customer: Asylum Race Cars
Since 2020 (at least) I have been tasked with wiring new cars and re-wiring repaired/reworked cars at Asylum. This has been the bulk of my work, and allowed me to standardize a lot of procedures on race cars. If you're having Jason, Ryan, and Dennie build you a car I can install the wiring as they're building it and have you electrically set the minute it leaves the shop! Here's some examples of me working in the shop and the results of that work:
- Caught by the Asylum crew working on a car back in 2020 (102k file)
- Outside of the driver's compartment showing the latest design for securing the wiring from the battery and emergency switch to the front of the car (62k file)
- Auxiliary LED lighting assists in illuminating important areas for team servicing between races(101k file)
- Instrument layout, including the auxiliary lighting to assist the driver with latching their belts (75k file)
- Properly routed and secured wiring to the engine starter and alternator (97k file)
- Spiral wrap organizes and protects wiring on top of the engine. Also shows the auxiliary engine compartment LED lighting (93k file)
- QuickCar gauges illuminate with colors when a cautionary level has been reached - they're plain white in normal indications (75k file)
- BEFORE AQWS: this wiring was nowhere near acceptable - check out the "after" photo for an acceptable rework (121k file)
- AFTER AQWS: Same car, much more reliable than the old wiring (106k file)
- Cleaned up this wiring for an Asylum customer, bringing it up to a much more reliable state (52k file)
- Driver's side of the Asylum customer's instrument panel above, including a digital tach (52k file)
